A First Communion invitation should make the child feel celebrated while making it easy for relatives to attend. Start with a warm invitation, then give the date, Mass time, parish address, reception details and RSVP deadline.
From the parents
With love and gratitude, we invite you to celebrate the First Holy Communion of our child, [Name], on [Date] at [Time], [Parish]. A family reception will follow at [Venue]. Kindly RSVP by [Deadline].
From the child
Please join me as I receive my First Holy Communion. [Date], [Time], at [Parish]. I would love to celebrate with you afterward at [Venue]. Please let my family know if you can come by [Deadline].
Spanish wording for a bilingual family
Con amor y gratitud, te invitamos a celebrar la Primera Comunión de [Nombre] el [Fecha] a las [Hora] en [Parroquia]. Después nos reuniremos en [Lugar]. Por favor confirma tu asistencia antes del [Fecha límite].
When some guests are invited only to the reception
Please join our family to celebrate [Name]’s First Communion at [Reception venue] on [Date], beginning at [Time]. Kindly RSVP by [Deadline].
This version avoids implying that every recipient has a seat at the Mass. Ask the parish about its arrangements and communicate any restrictions accurately.
RSVP and guest count
Please RSVP by [Deadline] using the invitation link and tell us how many people will attend. If you are reserving a specific number of places for a household, state that number in your message. An RSVP form collects replies; it does not replace parish seating rules.
Before you send
- Replace every bracketed placeholder.
- Check names, the event date and both addresses.
- Clarify whether the invitation includes the Mass, reception or both.
- Open the preview on a phone and check the map.
- Use the same deadline in English and Spanish.
